Al-Baaj, a company licensed by Toyota Iraq, launched the new 2027 Hilux in Al-Diwaniyah, in an event that brought together the latest iteration of the model and a celebration of the position Hilux has maintained in the lives of Iraqis for decades.
Since the 1970s, the Hilux name has been associated with roads, work, and everyday life in Iraq, becoming part of the lives of diverse segments of society, from farmers and engineers to business owners and families. Over the years, the vehicle has maintained its presence as one of the most prominent pickup trucks relied upon by Iraqis for their daily needs and across different environments and conditions.
The new 2027 Hilux features a redesigned interior and exterior, along with a range of updated features and equipment, introducing a new evolution of the model while maintaining the practicality that has long been associated with it among its customers in Iraq.
The 2027 Hilux launch event was held at the Al-Baaj showroom and was attended by a number of prominent figures and guests. The event included a comprehensive presentation highlighting the history of Hilux, the key developments introduced with the 2027 model, and its specifications, before concluding with the unveiling and first presentation of the vehicle to attendees.
The new 2027 Hilux features a redesigned interior and exterior, accompanied by a range of equipment designed to enhance the driving and everyday experience. The cabin features a 12.3-inch touchscreen, an 8-speaker audio system, ventilated front seats, and a wireless charger.
The exterior design was inspired by the stance of a sumo wrestler, giving the Hilux a stronger and more commanding appearance, while the open rear cargo bed maintains its practical character. The new Hilux is available in Iraq with two engine options: a 4.0-liter FE-GR1 and a 2.7-liter FE-TR2, in addition to front and rear sonar sensors.
Hilux’s presence in Iraq has never been defined by specifications and equipment alone, but also by the role it has played in people’s lives over many years. It has accompanied different professions and everyday needs, maintaining its presence across successive generations of Iraqis and becoming a familiar name among broad segments of society.
The launch of the 2027 model marks a new chapter in Hilux’s presence in Iraq, introducing a refreshed design and a range of specifications and equipment that distinguish this generation, while retaining the practical character that has long been associated with the model among its customers.
